unicorns and women under the influence

Anticipating the excitement of cross-borough travel, I hopped on over to slick Long Island City on Saturday to visit PS1. It was there that I stumbled upon a supersexy three room installation by Norwegian artist Børre Sæthre. The spaces contained tiny image monitors, blinking light and soundscapes, paneled mirrors, and in the final room, a full-sized taxidermy unicorn in a fogged glass vitrine. It is here that, "Anachronistically frozen in space, his mythological taxidermy hybrids insinuate elements of surrealism, drawing from an ancient register that collides with futuristic settings." You can say that again. It was hypermagical.

Then for the Saturday night special (a movie and three buck chuck) I dove into a little experiential Cassevetes,
A Woman Under the Influence, with Gena Rowlands and Peter Falk. It hit hard exquisitely. Especially in the scene at the end where her son Tony kisses her nose.
