I just discovered Krazy Klompen by Mollie Zanoni, a mixed media artist from Northampton, MA. The bright, googly eyes makes these whimsical found objects even more so. Like the "them there eyes" of Kewpie dolls paired with the dark color of the clogs, cartoon imagery of african-americans in blackface in the 20s and 30s comes to mind, and Fred Wilson's Drip Drop Plop.
